About Us

Hi! I’m Wendy Chew, founder of Homework Club. Just like you, I’m a parent and I have two beautiful girls. I started Homework Club to help a friend who was working day and night and had absolutely no time to catch up on schoolwork with her boys. Words spread and today I have many students under my care.

In my years of tutoring, I have learnt that many were struggling with the basics of English and Mathematics. For these students, it became difficult for them to fit into regular tuition centers because all they needed was catch up work. I have had students diagnosed with severe language delay, dyslexia, hypermobility that affected writing, poor short term memory and short attention span. Whilst they are already getting professional help, much work was needed on a regular basis to assist and practice alongside.

With the educational materials and experiences I had gathered over the years for my own children, I found that I was able to share them with other children. I was able to customise my lessons, pulling materials from different resources to suit individuals.

Here is where Homework Club comes in.

Support

Children are always interested in learning. Unfortunately, not every child is up for challenges and hurdles. These children need that extra assistance where schools and parents may not be able to offer. Every child in our care is important to us.

Practice

We have an One-Stop centre with a practice enrichment program designed to pursue the full potential of each individual student. While we do not drill students with 100s of the same questions, we would rather find the right balance with a good variety of problem solving and critical thinking questions.

Quality

Homework Club has created quality Mathematics and English worksheets based on the Australia/UK/Singapore education system.

Confidence

Whilst students are often placed according to their year group in school, at Homework Club we do things a bit differently. We progress them whenever they are ready. A Year 1 student may be doing Year 3 work, and a Year 6 student may be doing Year 3 work. Either way, we seek to help them pass through each learning hurdle and allow them to progress confidently and most importantly, enjoy the process.
